Winter training

Well I'm having a particularly bad training week this week and just want to share.  I know I'm not in Haiti (thank god) so I won't go on about it but - my foot hurts, I'm knackered and I just can't remember why I signed up for the marathon.

I'm gonna attempt a long run tomorrow but I'm feeling so out of sorts with it all.  Probably coz of the snow.  I'm waking up at 6.30, in the cold, cold dark and it has been snowing and icy now for ever (probably about 3 weeks - with Christmas in between). And, what with going back to teaching, it is getting really hard to fit everything in.

I haven't been able to run properly for weeks now.  Because of the snow.  I managed 9 miles on the Treadmill last week and have been seeing the benefit of treadmill running but I am desperate to get out and run properly.  The problem with running on the treadmill is that (apart from the terrible boredom) I tend to lose confidence with outside running.  I know I just have to go out and do it but the more I think about it the more I dread it and the more I dread it the more I don't want to do it.

And I think that this is at the bottom of my bad training head at the moment.

If only it was not so cold, and wet, and dark....

And if only I was not so scared of the marathon.

And if only my foot didn't hurt so much.
